Yes, it's true!

The Third Annual Walk and Rock raised $30,000 for The Jimmy Fund, our official fiscal goal for this year's event. That makes a grand total of $74,500 for The Jimmy Fund over the past three years!

Thank you to everyone who participated! We cannot thank you enough for joining us in this noble cause. Special thanks go out to our sponsors, donors, and those who helped in planning and executing the event as well. We are extremely grateful, and we want you to know your support is greatly appreciated and was put to good use.

We will hopefully have some pictures from Walk and Rock 2008 online soon.

SEE YOU IN 2009!

May 31, 2008 - Walk and Rock is tomorrow!

Weather.com says: Mostly Sunny, with a high of 74 degrees! See you at East Park!

May 29, 2008 - Only 3 Days Away!

Walk and Rock is almost here! We hope you're as excited as we are for an awesome day. Below are a some FAQ's about Walk and Rock that you might want to check over before coming out for the day.

When should I get there? Registration for the walk begins at 12 noon. If you registered in advance via the website or print registration form, we will have your name and your registration process will take only a minute or two. The walk officially begins at 1 PM, but walkers are welcome to begin after this time as well (please keep in mind that police supervision of the walk route will end mid-afternoon, so the closer to 1 PM you begin walking, the better). If you're coming to take in the music festival, feel free to come at any time. Live music begins at 12 noon and doesn't end until 7 PM. The Battle of the Bands officially begins at 3 PM, but some equally awesome bands will be playing before 3, so we encourage you to stay the whole day!

What's the parking situation? Free street parking is available up and down Shrewsbury Street and side streets as well. If you're having trouble finding a spot, there is a municipal parking lot located behind some buildings across the street from East Park (aka Cristoforo Colombo Park)- see the location here.

What if it rains? Walk and Rock is a rain-or-shine event. As of right now, the forecast is looking great for Sunday: highs in the 70s, mostly sunny throughout the day. In the small chance that there are some slight showers, Walk and Rock will carry on at East Park as planned. Only in the case of severe weather will Walk and Rock be relocated indoors to Worcester Academy's Daniels Gymnasium; nevertheless, the chances of this are slim to none. Check WalkAndRock.com if there is any question regarding weather on June 1st.

If you have any more questions regarding Walk and Rock, email walkandrock@worcesteracademy.org or call (978) 424-1590. See you Sunday!
